I painted this one from reference photos that I took when I used to live in West Falls, NY where horses and hay fields were just a short walk away.
The goal for this painting was to keep the brushwork loose and spontaneous while still being accurate with the drawing. The subtle variations of warm and cool colors made the field much more interesting to paint than if I had used a solid color.
