Late last October we had an unusually warm day and I realized that this was probably going to be the last warm spell before Winter so I took advantage of it. I spent the day walking around my favorite parks and taking hundreds of pictures, many of which I have already turned into paintings.
The sun is lower in the sky at this time of year which creates dramatic shadows. The foreground shadows help to improve the composition by creating directional lines across the gravel path. The path loops around the more secluded part of the park near Rock Street and then leads back to the waterfall.
